Could there be some balance here? For example, masks should not be required when on the beach. Yet Chicago's Mayor has shut the beach because people weren't wearing masks. But in line at the grocery, maybe masks are a reasonable restriction.

Whether wearing a mask is reasonable or not, any restriction on liberty should both have a sound basis and be codified in law by the local ordinances. We've already seen the dangerous overreach of numerous executive decisions. Masks are only the last straw.

It's "a restriction on liberty" in the same sense that prohibiting pooping on the sidewalk is "a restriction on liberty" (sorry, San Francisco). Both are reasonable public health precautions.
