2. These past five years have been enormously frustrating times for everyone on the Right. Our friendships, principles, & personal & movement interests have often not been in sync. It's easy to turn on others who have sailed in different directions. Yet, we need each other.

3. Yes, there are people who have been exposed in various ways. But a lot of people have also just been put to agonizing choices. I try very hard not to begrudge those who have made different choices sincerely.

4. Some have left our tent, never to return, & are trying to burn down everyone still left in it. If you're focused on preserving the coalition, save your fire for them. Not for people trying, by ways different than yours, to save the tent.

5. For my part, I stick up for my principles, my friends, my party, & my causes. It has not always been easy doing all of those simultaneously.

6. The Right has a long tradition of disputing ideas & strategies. What I don't want, & what I don't think either David or Ben wants, is to just build an audience of people who are only here for bashing other people on our own side.
