She's a high profile Democrat advocate for insane ideas that would hurt the US.
conservatives hate the "hurt US" part the left hates the "public" bit

Also, when people do lose (esp 1 party districts) the challenger will be to the polar side politically. It's hard to argue in a 1 party district that someone is too lib/consv.
