Not entirely fair, though. Conservatives also argue that stare decisis should apply less to wrong readings of the constitution precisely because it's so hard to amend.

Oh that's true. But c'mon, the conservative response to Roe being overruled is "well if you want a constitutional right to abortion pass an amendment and make it," not "well stare decisis is weaker here so a future Court can overrule us."
