1. Bill de Blasio got 795,679 votes in 2013, & 726,361 votes in 2017. How low is Mayoral turnout, in a city of 8 million? *Trump* got 494,549 votes in 2016. By contrast, Rudy Giuliani got 870,464 votes *losing* in 1989, & 930,236 votes in his 1993 win.

2. A win is a win; de Blasio won both those races handily. But the tiny fraction of NYers who actually voted for him gives some idea of how narrow his base of support always was to go anywhere from there.
