I couldn’t follow the point. Every other advanced country socializes heath risks—are people asking that question in any of these countries? I haven’t read if those debates in the UK or France or Taiwan. Have you?

Moreover, there’s no engendering of these social resentments if everybody is guaranteed a comprehensive level of medical care which we all pay for as part of our public obligations. There isn’t a “protected public” enraged by “takers” if we are in this together.
