There was a critical mass of voters willing to vote for "actual Republican, but not with Trump" in 2016. I believe there will be a market for a non-Trump R brand when Trump is gone. But in 2020, those voters are likely to be slim pickings.

I'd love to be out here telling Republicans downticket to maximize their distance from Trump, but I really do not think that would actually be good electoral advice in most cases.
