We all knew it in 1992. Moynihan knew it decades before that. Everyone knows it intuitively. Religions codified the stable two-parent situation not out of spiteful hocus pocus but based on thousands of years of trial and error.

But that’s . . . not what he says? He says the show “mocked the importance of fathers.” And it didn’t? And I’d have to watch that season, but I’m betting characterizing the arc as “just a lifecycle choice” is abject nonsense too.

Harder does not mean better. Plenty of children are better off with one good parent instead of 2 crappy parents. In a perfect world every child has 2 great parents. We don't live in that world.

That might be true, but it is a fact that kids brought up in single parent households are more likely to be poor, join gangs, do drugs, become criminals, and go to jail. People should avoid sex and parenthood until their marry, and marry a good person.

Csndacd Bergen said in an interview he was right. I think it was 60 Minutes. Her child's father died when she was a tween and they were his caregiver. Thank God she two parents because she lost one.

Some people who argue that systemic racism exists support that claim through the use data that compares the life outcomes of one group in which 66% of its children live in single parent homes to another for which 25% of its children live in single parent homes.

Incredible how many people think "mocking the importance of fathers" is equivalent to an "attack on single mothers". And it worked, too. Dems saw it and ran with "Republican war on women" and have never stopped.

Dan Quayle was, of course, wrong. He attacked single motherhood per se of being immoral. Lying doesn't make it so.
