There are dozens and dozens of great choices, but the only correct answer has to be "Gimme Shelter"https://twitter.com/joshsternberg/status/1260610985968140288 …

"Tunnel of Love" for Dire Straits' "Making Movies" album is a strong contender.
-
That's a very underrated song but opening with an 8-minute song is really a bold move.

I am partial to the Stones, so I’m gonna go with “gimme shelter” But “London Calling” is a heck of a way to kick start an album too “Like a Rolling Stone” on highway 61 isn’t too shabby either

London Calling is definitely an opener that makes a statement. Opposite approach to that or Gimme Shelter or Born in the USA would be one that draws you in gradually, like Where the Streets Have No Name or More Than a Feeling. You May be Right deserves a mention as well.

They’re not at quite the same level as the two songs mentioned above, but both “Runnin’ with the Devil” and “Welcome to the Jungle” let you know you were in for a ridiculous time.
