His history is irrelevant. They were completely ignorant of who he was. Beyond the color of his skin they knew absolutely nothing about him. He could have been a perfect angel and they’re behavior wouldn’t have been different.

It’s disturbing on another level. Nobody would think twice about a white guy in business casual attire doing this. But a clean cut young black man in kakis somehow raises suspicions. Gives credence to the whole white privilege paradigm that many of us try to deny even exists.
