You do know Lincoln was assassinated right after the Civil War? So you hold him responsible for the postwar promises broken by Democrats?

The 1619 project is factually false on so many subjects. I’ll take Lincoln.

Lincoln did not care about slaves. Freeing slaves was a tactic to get slaves to rebel and disrupt the south. There is literally a quote of him saying if he could save the union without freeing slaves he would. Northern states with slaves were given a free pass..
-
His complete thought was that saving the Union was his priority, and if he could do that by saving no slaves, some, or all, he would. He believed that carrying our founding ideals to their logical conclusions would doom slavery eventually anyway.

I am fortunate to have been educated at Norwich University..w/MA in American Public History. Its hard to argue history when you get to transcribe letters & documents from the 1700s lol. Only weak minded ppl say things about not believing history.

The comments on that original tweet as so sad. Next thing you know antifa is going to be protesting the Lincoln memorial as a symbol of hatred. How do people get so dumb?
