Tolkien was, frankly, a better writer (at least of fiction) than C.S. Lewis. The Narnia books have their moments of brilliance (eg, Puddleglum's speech, Aslan's deep magic), but Tolkien defines the genre for good reasons.

Have you read any of Brandon Sanderson? The Mistborn and Stormlight Archive books are on par with Tolkien in regards to world building.

I never read the last Paolini book because by the third it felt like he’d lost interest in his own story and was only writing to meet deadlines. Which disappointed me because the first one was so good. So I should read the last one?
