We used to only semi-jokingly call TMZ "the most trusted name in news" on the show. They usually have things lined up.

Having to constantly worry about celebrity defamation lawsuits means TMZ developed a far more rigorous "get it exactly right" culture than most media. It's hilarious that TMZ now has more journalistic integrity, ethics, and professionalism than the NY Times.
