The end of Reconstruction did not immediately end the election of black men to the House. There were six black Congressmen who served terms elected between 1878-1898. But then, none elected between 1900-1926.

Yeah, Jim Crow in its later form was still in its infancy in the 1880s & 1890s, not that those were exactly good times to be black in the South. The 1900-1920 period moved more from vigilantism & neglect to systematic govt discrimination.https://twitter.com/tkdylan/status/1252378507436425223 …
