The more people out of work, the better @JoeBiden’s electoral chances, along with the Democrats’ chances to take the Senate in November.

The effects of job losses can be alleviated by redistribution. Death cannot.

Should loss of life supersede all activities? People drive, drink, smoke, work construction, fly in planes, don't get flu shots, etc. The country isn't closed due to hundreds of thousands of people dying of heart disease. Do you only value life if it's threatened by COVID-19?

Perhaps one reason the Dems are so desperate to keep the economy in lockdown is that, in the face of job losses of this magnitude, Americans might get dependent on government hand outs, and thus eventually much higher levels of taxation on the rich. See, works both ways.

Do these people know that even a 100% tax on the "rich" still wouldn't fund a fraction of their demands (dreams)?

Of course, there is the opposite side- people want to keep the economy shut down as long as possible just to hurt Trump. If one argument is valid, so is the other

People with cushy and secure jobs telling people out of work that they are selfish or ignorant for wanting an income is beyond understanding. Especially so from people who always claim to be sympathetic to “the people.”

Well, I knew what my motivations were (economic freedom and the ability to thrive therein), but this does make me wonder about his motivations, and theirs (Dems/leftists).
