Every year on Easter @bdomenech and I pick a topic to debate - this year, we played nice and discussed when exactly in this 1997 performance did Bruce Springsteen literally destroy the Wallflowers with his awesomeness. My vote? The first guitar solo..https://youtu.be/xY3q69KWqb4

1. The whole energy starts to shift the instant Bruce starts singing. So sleepy up to there. Then: HEYYYY 2. Jakob stays the diffident Gen Xer until the mike-sharing, when Bruce finally brings him alive. 3. Never share a stage with dogs, babies, or Bruce Springsteen.

Cash stole hurt from NIN. Hendrix stole Watchtower from Dylan. Springsteen stole the Wallflowers entire thing.

Shame, because they were a good band that underachieved, in an era full of good bands that underachieved.

The Wallflowers were a top ten band. Saw them three times in concert. They were never the same.

I believe the only Nineties acts I've ever seen in concert were the Saw Doctors and Harry Connick.

Hmm, the only 90s act I've seen in concert is Counting Crows.

Actually I saw both them & Lenny Kravitz as opening acts (for the Stones & Petty, respectively), so I guess that counts.
