There are people who can’t say goodbye to their loved ones when they pass. The kids will be fine. Bad take.

This is not an either/or issue. Just a lament.

The last several weeks of college I just wanted to soak in everything and store it up in my mind forever: friends, favorite classes & professors, the look and feel of campus in the springtime... Sounds sappy, but those are still treasured memories. I'd hate not having them.

Yeah, my younger daughter is in 8th grade, will miss this.

My dad is 96. In 1941 (age 18) rather than any graduation fun & saying proper goodbyes he joined the Navy & served in the Pacific for WWII. He returned 4 1/2 years later (@ 22). Went on with life. I remind my HS senior & 2 college kids of this, so they keep things in perspective

The lack of closure is hard for kids and teachers. Nothing about this is easy. It all well and truly sucks.

As an individual who made the mistake of dropping out in my sophomore year of HS (I have since received a BA in accounting), I beg to differ. I have had no reunions, and an not able to commiserate with my friends about that final year. Kind of sad really.
