Both the "shutdowns are unnecessary" crowd & the "we'd have no coronavirus without Trump" crowd pay far too little attention to how hard the virus has hit a broad variety of foreign nations with different political systems, cultures, demographics, & responses to the crisis.

Biden still playing "there'd be no coronavirus without Trump," so as to avoid any responsibility for the tradeoffs of lockdowns.https://twitter.com/UniteCountryPAC/status/1268953691853328388 …

Do you not understand the basic concept that Trumps mishandling of the situation between January and March has directly impacted the situation we're in now? Taking it from a bad situation but manageable (SK/Taiwan) to a catastrophe: 16M+ unemployed, no path to open back up.

It's a stupid concept with no basis in reality. If virus mitigation was simple and it was only Trump's incompetence that caused it to spread then the US should be uniquely alone in the world. So why is the US performing significantly better than most of Western Europe?

Still true. Doesn’t mean a better president would have stopped it entirely but “catastrophe” captures Trump’s continued mismanagement of the response. More people have died and there been more economic disruption because of Trump. Fact.
