I've saved years, and only one speeding ticket. I'd say it's paid off.

That’s the same type of obvious untruth as “ACKSHUALLY masks will make you plebs sicker!!!?!” I’m really tired of various governments that I’m subject to lying to me so casually that I can safely assume anything they say is at least half false.

Huh? In this case they're telling the exact truth.

Yeah, see, I used to make this calculation on a very regular basis on road trips. Cutting 25% off a 15-hour drive was pretty sweet. Obviously, I eventually thought better of it, but the "you won't save time" argument is only true over short distances with lots of stops.

Had a 480 mile drive from home to/from college. Could legally drive it easily and legally in 8 hours including a meal stop before the 1973 oil embargo and the nationwide 55 MPH limit. Afterwards, the trip required a second meal stop and took a bit over 10 hours.

Open roads without stops, yes. But I see people buzzing around changing lanes every second and cutting people off only to wind next to them at a stoplight ahead, or traffic jam.
