Not sure this is a good decision, but it was basically a reaction to the District Court. As in Bush v Gore, things get dicey when SCOTUS is asked to review a state election law written by a court, rather than by a legislature.https://twitter.com/WSJMattD4/status/1247304424894185474 …

I love in WI, and am very confused. Can't find a good, unbiased explanation for this. Could Legislature have postponed this earlier? What would be danger of letting Evers' (unconstitutional) order stand? What am I missing?

The legislature could have changed it. They didn't want to, because it will presumably hurt turnout in Milwaukee, and maybe Madison. The governor could not legally change it, but tried to, and various Democrat-affiliated judges ruled in his favor, despite the law.

The implication to me is that “Legal Ethics” offers no restraint on judgements that both defy common sense (one (hu)man/one vote) and put the lives of voters at risk. Am I off base here? (Serious respectful question)
