Over the years I probably brushed aside way too much of my dad's advice but was more likely than not to listen to the lessons he learned in the Navy during World War II. Among his thoughts: "Chain of command is everything."
My dad's #1 lesson from being in the Army is that you can never have enough toilet paper.
