If Michelle Obama wanted to be on the Democratic ticket in 2020, she'd be running for the presidential nomination and walking off with it by now.https://twitter.com/katherinemiller/status/1233151388403851266 …

Just want to circle back on the superdelegate-floated idea here that Dems make poor Michelle Obama be the vice president via a contested convention https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/27/us/politics/democratic-superdelegates.html?referringSource=articleShare …

Accepting Bernie as the nominee but forcing him to accept a more establishment-y running mate *is*, however, the most likely outcome of a contested convention.

I could see a VP Pete or Amy being thrust onto Bernie as a compromise. While I think Warren would be infinitely better as a VP she doesn’t really buy him much in terms of moderate Dem support.

Hard to predict a brokered deal but... normal candidates often seek ideological or geographic balance. But Bernie has spent years building a movement. Accepting a likely heir who is *NOT* a Dem-Soc. is VERY off-strategy for him. He might lose the argument but he'll fight hard.

It’s a particularly bad outcome for his core supporters given his health issues and the global pandemic which poses heightened risks for his demographic
