I think Warren is more of a threat in that regard. Sanders strikes me as ineffectual like Trump. Someone who would write obviously illegal EOs, get slapped down, and then write angry tweets. Warren would work harder at getting the details right.

He certainly would!! The media dislikes him intensely, think he’s just a leftist analogue to Trump. And he also face the implacable opposition of organized money—yes, capital. That kind of matters. I’d think conservatives would be reassured by that.

Democrats, assuming they get the Senate, would undoubtedly push through judges, re-establish regulations, re-enter the Paris accords, and likely pass some form of single-payer or public “option.” And no trade deals with the UK or India, both of which are likely under Trump.

There's a difference between a President who can't get things through Congress but incites violence and racism and one who wants to spend outrageous amounts of money but can't get Congress to do so.

The Flight 93 case changes from 2016 (DJT dangerous, but HRC will institutionalize a policy-legal regime we can't accept) to 2020 (Bernie can't do anything on policy, but is a threat to norms in some nebulous way that cancels out everything about Trump.)
