The pardon power is the least constrained & most monarchical of all the presidential powers. Not coincidentally, it is the power that Trump has most consistently misused.

It's also interesting and telling that his defenders regularly argue that this power *cannot* be misused by definition, which only compounds the corrupt intent of it all.

The power is pretty absolute, but that does not mean it is above criticism for being used unwisely, unfairly, or on undeserving recipients. They're confusing its legal limits with its prudence.

Hell yes. Again, I'm not arguing this is outside his legal authority. I'm saying he's handing out pardons to cronies who don't deserve it, and we should criticize that.
