If he literally just spent $10 billion planting trees, that would almost certainly be more useful than whatever he ends up doing. But then, that wouldn't be effective as ideological protection money.https://twitter.com/Quicktake/status/1229480960552554496 …

You know what Bezos should do instead? Buy & preserve big chunks of the Amazon rain forest. What could possibly be more on-brand than "Jeff Bezos saves the Amazon"? The naming rights are already there!

And I'd love to see conservatives like you get on board for setting aside literally many millions of hectares to just plant trees, which is what would be needed to have any significant effect.

So you think we can solve this national security threat with just $10 billion worth of trees?

He is going to need all those trees just for the Amazon delivery boxes at the rate he is going.

I have always wondered about that, if excess CO2 is the main driver of climate change, why not create global sinks to combat and trap the CO2 i.e., plant a sh*t ton (proper scientific measure) of trees? Do a mix of timber and fruit trees to create economic drivers...

Because we can't seem to protect the trees we already have. And also there are more pollutants given off than just CO2
