It's because Bernie has been open all along about the fact that his plan will require enormous tax hikes - including raising taxes on the middle class - and Warren has not. https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/468481-warren-releases-medicare-for-all-plan-with-no-tax-hike-on-middle-class …https://twitter.com/neeratanden/status/1222555893826576384 …

It’s a little odd to me that the female candidate gets harangued on paying for her health care plan and the male candidate can just “brush off” the precise same question about his health care plan. How is that explicable in any way that isn’t a double standard for women? https://twitter.com/PeterSullivan4/status/1222512140638093313 …

Bernie has avoided scrutiny in the primary of a lot of his nutty ideas by the unconventional tactic of being honest about them. That won't shield those ideas in the general, but it avoids the open sore of reporters knowing you're lying to their faces.

Of course it doesn't. His math is still ridiculous. But that's not the point. The point is that he admits that the tax hike will be necessary. Warren has repeatedly tried to claim otherwise on the national debate stage.https://twitter.com/neeratanden/status/1222560510694039552 …

Nope. Even his 4% middle class tax increase doesn’t cover the costs of his plan. So that’s why the question remains. https://twitter.com/baseballcrank/status/1222559668410703872 …

There's all sorts of reasons why Bernie Sanders has no business being president, but at least I respect that the guy runs as exactly who & what he is.

I think Warren fell into the all too common Dem trap of starting from a compromise position. Bernie recognizes that you'll end up in a better spot by firmly starting with a big ask.

We are not talking about selling used cars. You are essentially saying rather than go with Warren’s approach of a well thought out multi year strategy that brings us to a reasoned optimal solution, start with a big ask & then back up until you end up with whatever you can get.

My health insurance costs me and my employer $1200 /month. I’ll gladly exchange that for a 5% income tax increase.

The big changes will take multi year strategies. And Warren is smart enough to understand that - and honest enough to admit it. Trump has been a national disaster like a hurricane. Rebuilding takes longer than the storm lasts. And Americans cannot handle any more whiplash.

Sanders M4A is a 4yr transition. It's not an all of a sudden shift.

That’s why he never lets his adoring throngs know he’s raising everyone’s taxes, and they won’t get M4All, AND free college, college debt relief, legal weed and $1000 in their pockets. Poor babies need to see the conman the rest have known for 30 years.

Let's add this up Pete's and Joe's plan keep the system the way it is with minor tweaks that will cost us 60 trillion Warren's plan cost 51 trillion, bernies plans cost 32 trillion. Doing nothing cost us 65 trillion and will bankrupt us. Who's plans saves more money? Bernie duh
