Didn't the British essentially end e Atlantic Slave Trade before The War of 1812?
They banned the trade into Britain. But interdicting it, and stopping it everywhere in the Atlantic, was a longer-term effort. In the 1840s-50s it was mainly about stopping the trade to Brazil & Cuba.
Thanks Dan for the info. After I sent my reply, I started think that we banned the importation of slaves by the 1820s, no?
