I think Joe Rogan is outside the pale, and is bad. It was a dumb move, and unwise to defend, even if you don't support him.

Who would you suggest as a role model of a successful president who always turned away the support of anyone with Bad Takes?

There is a difference between turning away support and celebrating it. But you know this!

You're not answering the question. Who practiced that kind of politics & won? What president would *not* have touted the endorsement of arguably the most popular figure in an entire category of media?

Your response was about "The idea that candidates are supposed to police the "promoting" of media figures..." I told you he promoted it. Maybe you weren't aware at the time. That's what I was saying was bad.

You changed the subject to the history of controversy. And I don't care about that. My opinion is that this is bad, and Joe Rogan is bad. You clearly disagree with me, and that is fine.

Your argument is that it's *bad politics*. My question is, since when?

Not everyone is David Duke. Do you seriously think Joe Rogan is the equivalent of David Duke?

I knew you'd ask that, and precisely why I picked it. But Trump didn't even tout that endorsement and you thought it was a bad idea. I just have a hard time figuring out your position here. I think mine is understandable and consistent. Yours is not.

My view that David Duke is beyond the pale - and has been, notoriously so, for decades - and Joe Rogan is not is hardly inconsistent unless you are making a deliberate effort to not understand anything.

Maybe for you as Dan McLaughlin, columnist. We may occupy the same space now, but before I did this I came from the campaign / staff world. How you think this is a good idea for a candidate is beyond me.

You suggested, and feel free to elaborate, that Alex Jones is beyond the pale? Guess what? Trump promoted, elevated, and defended him. As did Rogan (he's not running, I know.)
