Is he supposed to not want endorsements?

Tweets about endorsements are kind of endorsements of the endorser. Maybe you don't see it that way, but I do.

I do not, unless you're talking about someone truly outside the pale. You cannot build a winning coalition with no support from idiots, scoundrels, bigots, grifters, zealots, or jerks. As always, I look to Abe Lincoln: there is zero chance Lincoln turns down Rogan's endorsement.

I think Joe Rogan is outside the pale, and is bad. It was a dumb move, and unwise to defend, even if you don't support him.

Who would you suggest as a role model of a successful president who always turned away the support of anyone with Bad Takes?

There is a difference between turning away support and celebrating it. But you know this!

You're not answering the question. Who practiced that kind of politics & won? What president would *not* have touted the endorsement of arguably the most popular figure in an entire category of media?

Your response was about "The idea that candidates are supposed to police the "promoting" of media figures..." I told you he promoted it. Maybe you weren't aware at the time. That's what I was saying was bad.

I have bad news about some of Horace Greeley's opinions, Jim. FDR invited Father Coughlin to his inauguration.

Interesting bit of trivia for you: Horace Greeley and FDR aren't on the ballot. I'm here in the now. Also, you dodged the Alex Jones aspect that you brought up, so good talk. I think Trump/Jones/Rogan are all bad for pretty similar reasons. What did Horace Greeley think?

Greeley was notoriously erratic & full of half-assed opinions. And met with grifters he thought represented the enemy! https://www.nationalreview.com/magazine/2019/12/31/horace-greeleys-ill-fated-crusades/ … https://www.lohud.com/story/opinion/perspective/2018/10/31/chappaqua-school-board-not-consider-renaming-greeley-h-s/1830526002/ …https://www.wsj.com/articles/horace-greeley-review-the-national-newsman-11578671423 …
