Leaving aside players who started in the 19th century when schedules were shorter, there are only 14 players in the Hall who had fewer than 5 seasons of 600 plate appearances. 6 of them are catchers. The non-catchers aren't the Hall's greatest selections.pic.twitter.com/CQXQYGkBbp

Stargell is in that sense the closest comp to Walker, Stargell or Chick Hafey, but Stargell was a much different type, a poor fielder & baserunner who had a longer career,
