Neil Peart was in some ways the Hendrix of drummers - like Jimi, even if he wasn't the very best (the arguments on such things are endless), he dominated the sound of his band & just didn't sound quite like anyone else. No comparable drummer was also such a lyricist. 1 of a kind.

The proper mood is my favorite Rush song, even though it is the least characteristic Rush song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMSFqXGZ5TQ …

I only saw Rush in concert once, on the Roll the Bones tour. For the most part, the band sounded note-for-note like they did on record, except for leaving room for Peart to go do his thing. Which was amazing.https://twitter.com/ScottyE_FL/status/1215748692508053512 …

This is not, musically, Peart's best work - that was the drums incorporated with the band - but it's a great solo, the man in his element, and a close-up look at how he worked.https://twitter.com/BizballMaury/status/1215747332437729280 …
