All of them, especially Williams & Murphy, had a lot of swings & misses. (I ran out of room to include Jim Carrey, who is more like Williams/Murphy but less like Murray & Martin).

Steve Martin- his dramatic work is better than the rest, and his cultural peak as a stand-up remains unrivaled.
-
Williams’ and Murray’s dramatic work is good and more abundant. I can’t think of a single Martin drama beyond Shopgirl.

The fact that you left Richard Pryor off this list but included Steve Martin instead immediately invalidates this poll
-
Pryor, I think of with an earlier era & less varied career, but unquestionably a comic genius.

Man this was hard. Clicked on Murray but Martin is pretty close. They all are.

That's tough. Williams checked all the boxes and won an Academy Award. Did any of the others (Murray was nominated). I go Williams, Murphy, Martin, Murray.
-
Martin got a lifetime achievement Oscar, Murphy was nominate for Dreamgirls.

I'm giving it to Steve for his amazing, late career music which is really fantastic.
-
His early career music is great as well, though largely as part of his routine. His art curation is pretty amazing
