I dutifully paid my loans off, I have no problem with the concept of loan forgiveness. In the long run it would be a net positive for the economy.

Or both! Few vacations, used cars, smaller home/mortgage, cooking/coffee at home, never the latest tech/phone, etc. It’s amazing what a multitude of choices over 20 years can do.

A lot of this could be solved if the federal government just got out of the business of charging interest. For a lot of people, the interest on their loans is so high that they don’t make a dent. And it’s far higher than it is on mortgages or car loans these days.
