Legal merits aside, spending years accusing Trump of treason, bribery, & collusion and then impeaching him for none of those things *but including an article on obstruction of Congress* as one of the 2 charges seems like disastrously inside-Beltway politics.

My guess is they may take a vote in the future on these other charges. Perhaps they believe more evidence will come forward between now and the Senate trial? Maybe because of the trial? Otherwise, these are perhaps their safer bets.

You do realize that they’ve passed about 300 bills, none of which McConnell will even allow onto the Senate floor. I suppose that you’d like them to continue as a rubber stamp for Trump and the GOP, much the last congress?
