Good advice. Just to add that buying mid-priced often gets you higher base quality but w/out unnecessary, luxury features. Manufacturers know that mid-priced buyers expect performance so you often get a simpler version of the high-end product (cars, kitchen cabs, etc.).

Yep...biggest waste of money is buying a 60-70K car just because you think it makes your life better. Owned an Accord for 8 years and saved a ton on repairs etc.
