Even with a music library of almost 8,500 songs, I'm always astonished by how relatively few artists I have 30, 40, 50 songs from.

@Political_Beats causes me to take a deeper dive on bands I thought I knew. Even for artists I thought I knew cold--Rolling Stones, Cheap Trick, Elvis Costello--I always wind up buying at least a dozen tracks. -
I was shocked that I could be talked into owning more Stones, but here we are.

That's the crazy thing. I love The Doors. Yet I own 23 Doors songs, and I don't think I'm actually missing much. Their catalog isn't that deep.
