I have, actually . . . it played at large local venue and we made the trek. It was impressive. Mehta exaggerates of course, but it was worth doing.

One of the great lost mass experiences of the granular-media age is the annual wintertime airing of “Oz.” If you’re of a certain age, you still remember the first time the flying monkeys scared the wits out of you as a small child.

A big childhood favorite of mine was 'Yellow Submarine'. I'd probably watched it on TV over a dozen times before I got a chance to see the full uncut version in a theater. 'Hey Bulldog' and 'northern song' was completely excised for ad time and another song cut short.

It's one of those movies that proves the movie theater experience is irreplaceable.

I've seen it twice, once in 1998 or 1999 and again a couple of weeks ago.

Have seen it several times at The Mahaiwe Theater in Great Barrington MA. Thanksgiving weekend tradition. It’s wonderful.
