Wait. Things need to be untangled. The Post piece sucks. Lincoln and Marx were not friends. (Blackburn, one of the great historians of our age, has all the details in his small book.) But Marx did praise Lincoln—which is all Kruse said! Trashing him is itself sloppy and wrong.

@PhilWMagness piece runs through why Marx was nothing resembling a consistent fan of Lincoln. Painting him as such, over & over to make such a point, is deceptive.
