It's perfectly appropriate for Trump to say "before I do you this favor, do one for me," if he's either doing a favor with his own money or asking one that benefits the nation. The problem is using US power for benefits that are solely personal or political to Trump.

We've heard he is a business man, and we've heard he is in the hospitality business. What we'd like to hear is that he actually understands that he is President of the United States, and for him to start acting like it.

It's more than that though. Even among that small circle of really rich guys who own private companies, he seems uniquely unable to imagine any universe where his personal needs aren't the thing that EVERYONE ought to cater to at all times under all circumstances.
