Mind you, I'm not saying Trump can't get re-elected. I'm not even saying Pence can't, though his odds in my view would be pretty low if he took office after GOP Senators removed Trump. But the poll is specifically keyed at comparing the downside scenarios.

It depends on the definition of unrest. Trump’s followers are many, but they’re also structurally disorganized and spread out over large areas. There’d be discontent that would certainly affect future political races, but I don’t think there’d be mob discontent/unrest.

I think any scenario where the party rallies around Mike Pence has the best shot of actually becoming pro-conservative again.

The dilemma is that we need the party back but it's not worth much without its voters.

We got the judges, for whatever that's worth. Not much other conservative policy coming from this admin or its congressional followers, if "conservative" even still means anything. The weeds have strangled the field & we need a complete cut and burn of Trumpism and its vestiges.
