It's silly to say we have a single, monolithic "Deep State," but you don't have to be a Trump partisan to find it dangerous & unsustainable for a significant segment of the intelligence & national security bureaucracy to be dedicated to taking down the Commander-in-Chief.

Sure, now you sound like a liberal. The point is that all of these situations can be bent to suit the needs of the one making the argument. But, sometimes there is *simple right and wrong.* Deep throat acted “illegally,” but yet do you think he helped the country? Do you?

A lot of our politics ended up getting poisoned by how Watergate played out. It was absolutely a double-edged sword.

This is a shockingly bad take. Of course it would be bad for the IC (or some elements thereof) to "take down" civilian government. But if the government is using both the Justice Dept and pressure on foreign governments to bring down domestic adversaries, then it's the IC's duty.
