It's silly to say we have a single, monolithic "Deep State," but you don't have to be a Trump partisan to find it dangerous & unsustainable for a significant segment of the intelligence & national security bureaucracy to be dedicated to taking down the Commander-in-Chief.

The idea, bruited about by Trump partisans, that he is somehow humbling the "Deep State" is almost 180 degrees opposite from how things have worked. As usual, one of the greatest risks of Trump's presidency is its empowerment of his enemies.

Better put: The election of Donald Trump required the bureaucracy to push back in a way that it is not meant to, and we should avoid doing that again.

There are two explanations for the "resistance" within the admin: 1 As a matter of random, cosmic chance, more coup-loving bureaucrats ended up in the Trump admin than in past admins. 2 Trump engages in massively more rampant criminality and corruption than any prior President

Normal people both in and out of government service push back against him because he is a corrupt leader who holds his family’s well being above that of America.
