2. I don't use Bing or Microsoft Edge, I use Chrome. So I close it & move on. But somewhere, I suspect, Microsoft is recording a visit to Bing every time the lock screen makes me do that. This seems...questionable.

Every Windows device I have offers the password when I move the mouse.

My PC laptop does that more consistently.

That is not normal behavior for the lock screen. And sadly these types of glitches in windows are difficult to find and fix

It only takes you to Bing if you click the text on the lock screen, in order to show you the information referred to in that text overlay. If you double-click anywhere away from the text on the lock screen, you don't go to Bing to start. That's my experience with it.

I have had something similar and I hit ctrl-alt-delete at which point the password box pops up.

fwiw - I simply press the up arrow on my keyboard and the password prompt appears. If that's not happening, you may have a bug/virus?
