Notably, Rickey Henderson, Tim Raines, & Vince Coleman all had success rates of 75%+ in every season where they stole 70+ bases - Raines, over 80%. These were not guys running at bad percentage rates.

Maury Wills in 1962 had the best base-stealing season ever. 104 steals, 13 caught. Tied w/Rickey Henderson 1985 for highest SB% with 70+ steals, in 27 more attempts. And he led the league in steals BY A MARGIN OF 72.

In Wins Above Replacement terms, Wills (6 WAR) & Pee Wee Reese in 1952 (5 WAR) are the only position players to top 4.5 WAR with <5 batting runs AND <5 fielding runs in a season. Wills: 2.6 batting, -2.4 fielding.
