No, it’s saying that hip-hop is the greatest influence in pop right now — and country has always borrowed from pop. In the ‘80s, Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton had a HUGE crossover hit — written by then pop-disco king Barry Gibb. Didn’t mean the end of country.

Side note: Country MAY have its own problems, as Kelly Clarkson has noted (e.g., fewer female artists are charting), but that’s separate from the genre-mixing which has always been around.
