I would like to hear GOP elected officials give a good faith rationale for supporting Donald Trump over Mark Sanford that does not include handicapping electability.

Good faith or no, it seems like a lot to ask an elected official to support a challenge to an incumbent president of the same party. To what end? I don't even think it's an "electability" issue so much at the sheer unthinkability of fragging your own leader.

This early, at least. Insurgents have to show proof of concept. How many people lined up early behind Reagan 76 or Ted K 80? And they were heavyweights from day one.

Right but again this is all handicapping. My question is what qualities about Donald trump you think make him a better president than Mark Sanford would be. If that is not a question you can answer without pivoting to process its revealing.

Are you asking me, or them? I'm with Sanford. But I don't have voters to answer to.
