Maps of the USA are as problematic as the flag of the USA, the anthem of the USA, the constitution of the USA, & the history of the USA.

It's a response to a tweet with thousands of retweets that reads: "Getting rid of the electoral college also means creating a system where this map isn’t enough to elect a Republican." (With a map that has Alaska at the wrong scale.) Is that not close to that straw man?
-
It's a completely unremarkable map of the United States of the sort used regularly in media, atlases, history books, etc. (Also, more Alaska=more red, so what does it matter to any point at issue?).

Someone actually thinks "President by land area" is a thing. I know I'm old, and all, but do we still teach civics?
-
notice he also says he has a phd. not sure about whether civics is taught. i am sure no one pays attention if so.

But it feels like it's an absolute waste of time to try to explain it to people
