Running backs have short careers. Sanders is third all time in rushing yards. Earl Campbell & Jim Brown played almost a third fewer games than Sanders.

Right. Not saying I agree with it given the competition at QB in the era in which Luck played, just that if you wanted to make a HOF case for him, precedents like Sanders is where you'd begin.

Jim Plunket won 2 Super Bowls and isn't in the HoF, Luck had a couple good years wrapped around missing a lot of games. I'm a small Hall guy and he doesn't get in .
