The conservative position is Lincoln's view of the Founding, which the project rejects. I'm not against a project like this, I'm against its specific false assertions & how they are accepted as gospel by people who barely skimmed the essays.
Then it would be more productive, I would argue, to address those issues, instead of making into a lib v. con thing.

If you mean the formulation in the Gettysburg Address, that is was an aspirational/philosophical statement. It was not an ironclad statement of pure fact. 1/x
It is impossible, from an empirical POV to state that the nation was "conceived in liberty" and "dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal" and pretend like that is all you need to know. 2/x
