I'll do you all one better. The Federalist Papers had indeed pretty much disappeared from schools *until* Common Core mandated that foundational documents such as the Federalist Papers, which they mentioned by name, be taught. They're now back.
That's because "modern conservative thought" has been usurped by hucksters like Ben Shapiro and Dennis Prager. There's no depth, it's all just running ideological cover for Facebook addicted boomers.

This whole discussion is completely irritating. Most scholars do not see themselves primarily through a liberal or conservative lens. Our politics puts these labels on people.
It's as if you have decided that the mere act of being educated makes one "liberal." Is this what the GOP and conservatives have become? So hostile to learning that you must brand anyone who is a "liberal" as if that is a negative?
In the wake of World War II, deeply intelligent people--who also happened to be Republican--helped lay the foundation for the American Century. Men like Paul Hoffman (Marshall Plan) and Beardsley Ruml (the progressive income tax) come to mind.
Seriously, I had enough of Hayek, Friedman, and Buckley growing up. Here is my challenge to you. Show me a collection of essays by conservative scholars worth reading in the last 10 years? Keeping the Tablets and Saving the Revolution were over 20 years ago.
